A dewy, golden skin this autumn is the secret of looking radiant and beautiful

Say goodbye to dull skin

This festive season, try giving your skin a golden glow. Researchers say, evenness and glow of the skin are even more important than facial symmetry when it comes to looking good. Actresses Halle Berry and Cate Blanchett look stunning on camera not just because of their star status but their good skin. Says dermotologist Dr Meghna Gupta, "Radiant skin is the key to looking beautiful. Eating resh fruits and regular exercise are essential for having or retaining good skin." Model Miranda Kerr uses green tea as part of her beauty regimen.

Here's how she does it: Fill the jug with boiled water, add an organic green tea bag, place your head over the jug and cover with a large towel... let the steam make your face glow.

Go natural
Make sure festive food and drink don't leave your skin lifeless. Tweak your skincare regimen. Says Himani Wright, London-based beauty blogger, "Get the glow back by stimulating your skin. Use a cleanser, exfoilate your skin. Give yourself a self-facial. Here's my DIY facial for a glow...

Ingredients: brown sugar 1 cup, besan 1 cup, a drop of olive oil.
Directions: Mix brown sugar, drop of olive oil and besan. Leave the scrub on your face for 15 minutes. You can also apply it under the eyes to get rid of dark circles. Use your knuckles to massage the scrub all over your face, starting from the centre and working outwards. Don't forget the eye socket, as it removes puffiness."

For that Radiance
Coconut oil is a miracle worker when it comes to glowing skin. Says beauty expert Deepica Mutyala, "You don't have to restrict the coconut oil to your hair; use it on the face, leave it for 5 minutes and then wash off. It's a simple product that leaves a big impact."
Shahnaz Husain, beauty expert, recommends exfoilating the skin with almonds. Here's her DIY face mask... Take a few ground almonds, mix them with milk, rub gently into your skin. You will see your skin looking clearer.

Dark Eyes
Worried about your puffy eyes and dark circles? A beautiful face looks tired and aged if you ignore the pigmentation. Says Wright, "To get rid of those stubborn dark circles, take a cold potato, grate it, put it over your eyes for 10 minutes every day. You will soothe those tired eyes. Potatoes have bleaching properties. Also eat green vegetables - they help diminish dark circles."

Festival-proof your mascara
Keep your lashes looking perfect. Use waterproof mascara so that it doesn't run, and leaves a mess. Choose a brand that can easily come off with an oil-based remover.

Shimmery Shadows
Ditch the boring browns. Get your shimmery shadows out. Make-up artist Komal Gulati says, "Shimmery shadows add to the fun at festivals. Add some sparkle on your cheeks too. Colour your lips; Work on different hairstyles for very party. Keep a make-up calendar and try different looks with different dresses."

Clean it Up
Keep wet wipes near your bed to remove all traces of make-up. Wet wipes are handy and the easiest way to remove party make-up. Never sleep with make-up on. It can create havoc on your skin!
